Coastliner: Diversion to buses in Norton area
from 9th January 2012

24-12-2011

Customers are advised that a major road upgrade at the Brambling Fields junction, just east of Norton, started from Monday 9th January 2012, with work expected to take about six months.

The Brambling Fields junction is closed to traffic in both directions whilst the work is undertaken.

For the duration of the works our buses between Malton and Scarborough (843) and between Malton and Bridlington (845, X45) are not able to serve Norton; between Malton and Scagglethorpe buses run via Old Malton and the A64.

We are providing a shuttle service between Malton and Norton, on behalf of North Yorkshire County Council, which runs during the day on Mondays to Saturdays, and which is timed to connect with most 843 buses at Malton.

The shuttle service runs between Malton and Westfield Way in Norton; the usual stop at Norton Grove Stud (towards Malton) will not be served for the duration of the works. Temporary stops are sited at the top of Westfield Way, a short distance from the junction with Scarborough Road.

We're sorry for the short notice, but must advise customers that we were not informed or consulted ourselves, only finding out on Friday 16th December from the local press.
