Cool for the Summer! New times from Sunday 7 July05-06-2019
Summer is almost here! To celebrate, we're making some exciting improvements on Coastliner and some of our other buses around York. Here's a summary of what's happening from Sunday 7 July.
Coastliner Express is back - FAST buses to the coast for the summer
Last year, we introduced Coastliner Express to whisk you to the seaside – and you loved it so much, we're bringing it back for another year!
For the summer, FAST buses will run between Leeds, York, Whitby, Scarborough and Bridlington.
Coastliner Express X40 will run fast from Leeds and Seacroft Green to York and Whitby. It won't stop in Tadcaster, Copmanthorpe, Stockton on the Forest, Malton, Thornton-le-Dale, Goathland or Ruswarp.
Coastliner Express X43 won't stop in Tadcaster, Copmanthorpe, Stockton on the Forest, Malton or Seamer, but will be running fast between Leeds, Seacroft Green and York, and then on to Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington.
It's fantastic news if you use Coastliner to get to the coast - Coastliner Express is up to one hour faster than Coastliner is at the moment, giving you even more time to spend on the beach! Of course, you can still catch our usual range of Coastliner buses as normal, too.
Our usual range of incredible value tickets will apply, and you'll still be able to use your concessionary bus pass on board.
There'll be some other small changes to times on our Coastliner buses, with an earlier departure from Whitby at 9am on Mondays to Saturdays added.
Say hello to Castle Line
Castle Howard is one of Yorkshire's finest stately homes, and a great day out deserves a great bus route to sit alongside it.
CastleLine is your fresh, new look for the 181 –we've injected it with some of our signature style alongside a range of improvements to times.
There are NEW, earlier buses at 9am and 10am from York running fast to Castle Howard so you can really make the most of your day, and buses at better times throughout the day, too.
CastleLine will also run 7 days a week with NEW departures on Sundays, so you can really make the most of your weekend.
You've told us that our current arrangement in York city centre, with some buses going to the Stonebow during the morning and evening rush hours is confusing. So, we're making things simpler for you – from 7 July, all Cityzap journeys will start and finish on Clifford Street.
Coastliner 840 & 843
There'll be some small changes to times from 7 July. In Scarborough, all buses will now follow the normal route and will no longer stop at the colleges. There'll be an extra departure from Whitby during the week, at 9am.
There'll be some small changes to times on the 194 to help improve reliability for you. Download your new timetable for the 194 now.
