Heading to York Racecourse? Travel to the Brontë Cup with Ease using Cityzap!13-05-2019
York Racecourse is one of the North's biggest and best racing and entertainment venues and this week they are playing host to the Brontë Cup- and it's easier than ever to get there by bus!
We drop you on the doorstep
We're ZAPPING upto every 30 minutes between Leeds, the Racecourse and York city centre on Cityzap (every hour on Sundays). Both Cityzap and Coastliner drop you off right at the doorstep of the Racecourse, with no need to faff around changing buses or trains.
You find free WiFi & USB power on all of our Cityzap buses, and most of our buses on Coastliner - so you can post that pre-races selfie without hammering your data - or battery!
ZAP for £10
Not only is it quicker and easier on Cityzap, it's cheaper too. A return ticket between Leeds and York costs just £10 and you can use it on both Coastliner and Cityzap.
And did you know...students, university and NHS staff can ZAP for just £7 return? Just show your driver your staff or student ID! Child tickets are £4.20 one way and £7 return.
Get there with Gold
You can use our Gold weekly, monthly and annual passes on both Coastliner and Cityzap to the Racecourse - in fact, you can use Gold tickets on any Transdev bus in Yorkshire and Lacnashire! Find out more about our Gold range of tickets.
And if you're travelling by train...
There's a bus every few minutes to the Racecourse from York city centre on event days.
Catch the 197 from stand RJ, opposite the main entrance to the station. Buses run around every 10 minutes between 11am and 1pm, returning between 4pm and 7pm (and later on Music Showcase evenings). Fares on our Racecourse shuttle are £2 single, and £3 return. Child tickets (age 5 to 15) are £1 single or £1.50 return.
Concessionary bus passes and daily, weekly and season tickets for travel within York aren't accepted on bus 197 to the Racecourse.
And the best thing? All of this, for just £10 return.
