TADFASTER - New fast bus for Tadcaster

We're now running a new hourly bus non-stop into York. We partnered with North Yorkshire County Council to help improve the service to the town following the flood disruption.

The new bus route, called Tadfaster, will take just 20 minutes into York - the quickest bus ever to run into the city. It will run alongside the existing Coastliner service, which will remain the same and continues to connect the town with Leeds, York and the east coast.

Alex Hornby, our Chief Executive, said: “We know it's been really tough for residents and our customers in Tadcaster, and we wanted to design a service more specific to their needs. Research shows that York remains the most popular destination from the town - and so the new Tadfaster route has been carefully planned to speed up journeys into York city centre, whilst restoring bus services from the bus station and the east side of Tadcaster."

Cllr Don Mackenzie, Executive Member for public Transport, said: “This is a really good example of how the council is working closely with bus operators to improve commercial services throughout the county.”

The new Tadfaster service runs hourly during the day, and will connect Tadcaster directly with York, non-stop along the A64, then picking up as usual between York College and the city centre.
