Changes to Yorkshire Coastliner fares & prices from Saturday 1st June 2013

Some Yorkshire Coastliner bus fares will be changing on Saturday 1st June 2013.

Regrettably, significant reductions in the amount of reimbursement we receive for the use of Concessionary travel passes by Senior Citizens in North Yorkshire means we must obtain greater revenue from our fare-paying passengers.

Many single and return tickets will rise by between 20 and 50 pence and there will also be changes to some day, week and monthly tickets.

We know that this will not be welcome news, so we have tried to keep the increases as small as we have been able to, and where possible have frozen some fares. We want people to continue using our services and so have done what we can to keep the price of season tickets as low as possible for those people who use our buses most often.

We still believe that the cost of bus travel remains competitive when compared with cost of other types of transport, such as the total cost involved in running a private car, especially when parking costs, insurance, tax and depreciation are also considered.

Fares for journeys made wholly within West Yorkshire do not change.

Examples of the new fares & prices from Saturday 1st June 2013 are in the attachment below >>
