York CitySightseeing

A great way to see York and make the most of your time here, is to use the York CitySightseeing open-top buses.

Tickets are valid for 24 hours, so take a full tour, and learn some fascinating stuff about this 2000 year old city, and then use the buses to get around as you do your own exploring.

In the summer, many of the tours have a live guide to entertain you with their fund of facts and quirky anecdotes - look out for the 'Live Guide' sign on the front of the bus!

We also operate an hourly Multilingual tour for visitors whose first language is not English. The commentary is in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish, Polish, Mandarin Chinese and English.

So, if you are coming to York, look out for the red CitySightseeing buses. We'll show you all the must-see sights and give you a fascinating insight into the ancient 'Capital of the North'.

On the multilingual buses there is also a specially recorded track for younger passengers.  Still a full historic tour but with more laughs and rude noises!

Younger passengers will receive a Passport Pack as they board containing colouring pens and puzzles.  Also they get an opportunity to enter a drawing competition with great prizes.

York CitySightseeing offers discounts for groups of 10 or more.

Private Hire

The famous red CitySightseeing buses are available for hire all year round.

Weddings, corporate events, birthdays, school proms, school field trips and other special occasions can be made more memorable by adding a double-decker bus!  For weddings we can dress the bus appropriately with ribbons and bows.

Show your guests around York with a professional guide (or guide it yourself).  Buses are also available for transport only (no tour).

We'll pick you up pretty much anywhere within the city boundaries, providing there is access for a double-decker, and set you down wherever you want to be afterwards.

Our buses carry 70+ passengers (about 40 under cover, if it's one of those days).

Call us or drop us an email to give us your requirements and for a no-obligation quotation on 01904 634296 or at info@transdevyork.co.uk

Latest Updates

20th November 15

From Monday 23rd November for a period of three weeks the B1261 will be closed for resurfacing from the mini roundabout in Seamer to Crossgates roundabout.

Whilst the closure is in place the eastbound services will divert left off the mini roundabout up Stoney Haggs Road to re-join the A64 prior to the petrol station. The reverse of this diversion will be operated on the westbound services.

Following the completion of this work, the B1261 from Crossgates roundabout to Musham Bank (A64 roundabout) will be closed for a period of two weeks, so the above diversion will still be in place.

The closure is out of our control, but we apologise for any inconvenience it may cause.
